Corona Stories – Meera Dhungana

Meera Dhungana is a law practitioner and has been in this field for 28 years. While most of the judiciary system was shut-down due to the pandemic, Dhungana continued to work as much as she could. She dealt with 8,090 cases during the lockdown. She gave out legal advice and fought cases through phone and online calls. She witnessed the reluctance of the police to file and efficiently investigate cases during this period. She believes the inactive state of the judiciary system has left many people with no options to escape their perpetrators.
